Poker Stars Releases Downloadable Macintosh
Online Poker Room

It should be any day before online casinos begin to offer downloadable
Macintosh software now that Poker Stars has unveiled their very own version of
what has become an anomaly of sorts. Downloadable online gambling software
certainly is a rare entity in a field dominated by personal computers. However,
while this is the case, it hasn't stopped Mac user's to gamble at their favorite
online casinos and poker rooms. Thanks to the technology of Flash software,
which the best online casinos offer, Mac user's have not been altogether left
out on this growing pastime (aside from a smaller selection of games).
This is why the news of Poker Stars' downloadable Mac software is promising.
Some online casinos, like Rival Gaming powered DaVinci's Gold, say they too are
working on Mac software of their own. And so long as more gaming sites begin to
develop Mac software, more software developers will consider doing so
themselves. The problem is that the amount of PC user's and MAC user's who
gamble online is so disproportionate that developers have not found it
worthwhile to develop an entire different software package.
On the backend, online casinos are able to track all page views and visits to
their website, including individual statistics about each site visitor. In
addition to seeing where the source of the traffic comes from (search engine,
referral, direct), website analytics will show the region/city of a hit, and the
operating system of the computer used. The statistics have simply not been high
enough to warrant development of Mac software.
However, now that Mac user's are growing into a formidable army of their own
(hence the recent television commercials), online casinos and poker rooms are
beginning to wise up to the fact that more and more Mac user's are displeased to
only have the option of Flash software. Besides, getting a player to download
software is much more ideal from the perspective of getting players to return.
Once the software is on the computer, players are more tempted to give in to
their gambling urges.
