october 2007
Our thoughts for the month of October have come at a time
when the online poker room, Absolute Poker, has some serious
damage control to do. In a scandal that surfaced two weeks
ago, Absolute Poker's software platform underwent a very
serious security breach. While certain details remain to be
clarified, such as exactly who it was playing under the screen
name "Pot Ripper" - a player who apparently had access to a
super user account which allowed this person to see all the
cards of other players at the table - the fact remains that
Absolute Poker's earlier denial of a security breach has not
shined favorably on them. Only time will tell if Absolute
survives this unprecedented scandal and whether players will
ever trust them enough to bet real money in their poker room
once again. 10/30/07 -
