Online Player, Storakers, Takes Home
Swedish Open Poker Championship

Following the close of the Swedish Open Poker Championship
last week, online poker and betting site, Ultimate Bet, issued
a press release, or rather, declaration of bragging rights.
The reason being is that Johan Storakers, who is one of
Ultimate Bet's sponsored pro players, took home the winning
jackpot amongst a large pack of highly skilled players. And
yes, a pack of players sponsored by Ultimate Bet's competitor
online poker rooms. There's your bragging rights.
This is good timing, for although Ultimate has not been
scandalized like Absolute Poker, the two online poker rooms
are owned by the same company - Tokwiro Enterprises Enrg - a
Mohawk Nation owned company. So although Ultimate Bet is not
necessarily guilty by association, it is safe to say they
could be doing some damage control in light of the cheating
scandal at Absolute.
There's no doubt that Ultimate Bet was well represented by
a host of the poker industry's top players, including the
poker legends, Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. In fact, Duke and
Hellmuth helped design Ultimate Bet so that it catered to the
specific needs of poker players - in other words, what poker
players want most in their online gaming host. Ultimate
Bet also offers casinos style blackjack for players who like
to mix their gaming up. And while I'm not sure about Duke, I
do know that both Storakers and Hellmuth can be found playing
online every now and again. Just be sure you're ready and
willing to put down some heavy stakes if you want to play with
the likes of these guys.
Storakers walked away with a cool $185,000 from the Swedish
Open Poker Championship, which is not bad at all for a smaller
circuit tournament. Add this up with Storaker's cashouts at
the World Series of Poker, World Poker Tour and European Poker
Tour and you are looking at a player with a healthy enough
bankroll and more than enough skill to make it to plenty of
more final tables. Oh, and did I mention that Storakers is
from Sweden? Sweet victory indeed.
